Overview: This workshop synthesizes concepts from J.L. Moreno's system of
psychodrama, sociometry and group psychotherapy with Harville Hendricks's
Imago Relationship Therapy. Participants will explore the central importance
of attachment throughout the lifespan. Particular emphasis will be on ways
that unmet needs from childhood are unconsciously re-enacted in adult
relationships and on interventions therapists can implement to help partners
heal developmental wounds in the context of current relationship.
Similarities and differences in the two models and approaches will be
highlighted, with some explored through psychodramatic action. Regardless of
theoretical approach, participants will leave with ideas and tools they can
apply in their work with couples.

Workshop Leader: Catherine D. Nugent, LCPC, TEP, is a licensed clinical
professional counselor, Board-certified psychodrama trainer, and certified
Imago Relationship therapist. Cathy is an adjunct instructor at Johns
Hopkins University, where she teaches in the graduate counseling program.
She is a Fellow of the American Society of Group Psychotherapy & Psychodrama
(ASGPP), a Past-President of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter ASGPP, and an
Executive Editor of the Journal of Psychodrama, Sociometry & Group
Psychotherapy.
